Somero Matson Group LLC recently installed approximately 700 SD7 Joint-Savers in our facility in Raleigh, NC. Upon completion of construction of a 21,000 square foot addition; it became apparent we had a serious problem with the concrete slab – specifically slab movement, joint spalling and cracking. Professional engineers were engaged to evaluate the situation and a number of products and methods were evaluated for remediation of the problem.

Due to the precision nature of our business the concrete’s flatness, strength and the stability of the slab across saw joints is of paramount to our operation. We choose the SD7 joint-saver product to remedy our problem. The technical service and support during the testing, evaluation and install process was outstanding. The folks with Somero Matson Group LLC were very helpful in providing sound technical advice and counsel as we evaluated our options. They were also very responsive in complying with our tight schedule for evaluation and system install.

We are in full production in our new facility and have been very pleased with the performance of the repaired slab. While at this point we certainly do not know with certainty the longevity of the performance of the system, we have been pleased with the results thus far. Our engineering firm has measured practically “0” movement in a slab that was approaching 0.50” of movement at some joints under load. I will also add that the methods and workmanship exhibited in the function and cosmetic repair of substantial portions of joints due to spalling was outstanding.
